Old Drum Open Mic

Old Drum Open Mic will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, from 6 until 8 pm in the back room of Tranquility Shop, located at 128 N. Holden St. in downtown Warrensburg.
The region’s creative community is invited to take part in the open mic by sharing original songs, stories, poems, comic routines, personal memoirs, music and other creative endeavors. Walk-ins can usually be accommodated.
Presenters already scheduled for the Feb. 4 session include the traditional folk music group Delphinium Blue with three original songs from their CD “How The West Was Sung.” Also, Debbie Noland will recite three new pieces from her “Itsy Bitsy Spider” series commemorating the poetic styles of Longfellow, Hemingway and Melville; Gianna Kirchner will sing her original song “Butterfly in Change;” Ahafia Jurkiewicz-Miles will present the poem “a book of pharmacy;” Phil Wagner will share his rendition of the traditional Irish folk tune “Drunken Sailor;” Dave Wisker will present his latest story, “The Prophet on the Wall;” Leah Eggimann will read her poem “Starfish;” and Scott Umphrey will share a personal memoir.
