Old Drum Open Mic
March 3, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Old Drum Open Mic is set for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, in the back room of the Tranquility Shop, 128 N. Holden St. in downtown Warrensburg.
David Curtis is scheduled to present a scripted story from his adventures,“Radio Station KWAT.” Performer Phil Wagner will return with a couple of songs, including the folk tune “Drunken Sailor.” Naturalist author John Hess will make his debut with an illustrative presentation, “Egretable: A Short Story.” Linda Bales will perform songs on her ukulele. Eddie Osborne is scheduled to present an essay, and Dave Wisker will present part two of the futuristic story he unveiled last month, “The Prophet on the Wall.”
The organizers of Old Drum Open Mic encourage the presentation of original work — poetry, songs, music, essays, memoirs, comedy sketches, stories or dance. Time slots are limited to 15 minutes unless time remains after all other presenters have concluded. The programs are free and open to the public.
