The Performing Arts Series and the department of music at the University of Central Missouri presents The Afiara String Quartet at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 3, in Hart Recital Hall on the UCM campus.

After residencies at The Juilliard School and San Francisco State University, the Afiara are currently the Fellowship Quartet at the Royal Conservatory of Music. This award-winning quartet has performed throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia, at such venues as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Lincoln Center, Library of Congress, London’s Wigmore Hall, Austria’s Esterhazy Palace, Munich’s Prinz Regenten Theatre, Amsterdam’s Muziekgebouw, and the Royal Library in Copenhagen.

The Office of the Performing Arts at UCM, in partnership with the department of music, will bring The Afiara Quartet to Warrensburg for a three-day residency as part of the PAS Arts Education Outreach Program, with workshops, demonstrations, lectures and masterclasses with college, high school and elementary school students.
