Gerald J. Plummer

Gerald J. Plummer, 86, of Warrensburg, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 26 at his residence.

Gerald was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Little Rock, Ark., the son of Harry Garfield Plummer and Ethel Ashley (Steadman) Plummer. He graduated from high school in Paragould, Ark. He was united in marriage to Mary Helen Fletcher on July 2, 1949, in Paragould. He worked for a photo shop in Paragould for three years. The couple then moved to Denton, Texas, where Gerald worked as a security officer for a military equipment manufacturing company. They then settled in the Simi and San Fernando Valleys in California, where he went to work for a machine shop from 1953 until retiring in 1983. Gerald and Mary retired to a farm near Barnett, Mo. They moved to Warrensburg in July of 2000. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, hunting, and making candy and jerky. He was a member of Grover Park Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; four sons, Jerry J. Plummer and wife, Kim, of Eldon, Mo.; Michael W. Plummer and wife, Kat, of Barnett; Joe Cisneros and wife, Karen, of Lompoc, Calif.; and Paul J. Plummer and wife, Cheryl, of Warrensburg, Mo.; brother, Wayne Plummer and wife, Marilyn, of Idabel, Okla.; 16 grandchildren, Jonathan Plummer and wife, Desiree, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Lorelei Burns and husband, Matt, of St. Joseph, Mo.; Jeremy Plummer of Galena, Mo.; Rebecca Carver and husband, Scott, of Tennessee; Rebecca Cisneros of California; Michael Cisneros of California; Troy Lee Plummer and wife, Melissa, of Warrensburg; and Cole Plummer also of Warrensburg; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
Gerald was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Plummer; a foster brother, Paul Gay; and granddaughter Rachel Cisneros.
