Gerald Dean Ney, 81, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, died May 28, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Service is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, June 2, at New Covenant Ministries, 532 S. Main St. in Independence, Missouri.

Gerald Ney
Gerald was born Aug. 7, 1935, to Ralph W. Ney and Dorothy E. Eggers Ney in Princeton, Iowa. Gerald served in the United States Navy and worked as a Catapillar Machine operator and as an over-the-road truck driver for most of his life.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Sharion of the home; one son, Kyle Ney and wife, Melissa, of Independence; two daughters, Kerrie Hoover and husband, Randy, of Mint Hill, North Carolina; Julia Debien and husband, Carlos, of Milton, Florida; one brother, Robert Ney and wife, Lisa, of Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Mary Randolph of Reno, Nevada; and Sharon Decoster and husband, Dan, of Columbus, Montana; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke’s Heart Institute in memory of Gerald D. Ney.
