(MILLSBORO, Delaware) — The eighth-ranked Jennies Bowling team went 3-0 on the final day of competition to claim the team championship at the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawk Classic on Sunday.
The Jennies entered Sunday’s bracket play as the No. 2 seed behind Sam Houston State. The Jens and Bearkats met in the first round of bracket play with UCM coming away with a 4-2 win (204-136, 196-210, 200-178, 166-178, 247-183, 185-159).
With the win, the Jennies automatically advanced to the finals. Before the finals match, UCM bowled against Delaware State coming away with another 4-2 win (187-175, 219-185, 172-169, 146-165, 201-245, 194-190).
In the finals, the Jennies rallied from 3-1 down to beat Vanderbilt 4-3 to claim the team championship (225-176, 166-189, 173-232, 187-224, 215-158, 226-197, 199-181).
The Jennies are back in action next weekend at the McKendree Invitational in Belleville, Illinois.
