Jennies bowling finishes eighth at Arkansas State Mid-Winter Classic

(JONESBORO, Ark.) — The Jennies bowling team went 2-1 on the final day of competition at the Arkansas State Mid-Winter Classic and finished in eighth place overall.

The Jennies finished 6-7 overall for the weekend with 13,170 total pins.

UCM opened bracket play on Sunday morning against Jackson State. The Jennies came away with a 4-2 (150-112, 170-187, 230-195, 158-175, 233-148, 202-187) win to advance. The second round saw the Jennies win a tight match against Maryland-Eastern Shore 4.5-2.5 (160-134, 205-154, 165-165, 206-206, 150-150, 209-209, 191-191).

In the seventh place match, the Jennies fell to Nebraska 4-3 (201-204, 192-180, 202-212, 191-189, 188-168, 169-203, 164-194) to finish in eighth.

Individually, Marina Stever was the top placing Jennie in 30th place with a 189 average. Justyne Falbo was 37th with a 185.6 average. Samantha Roberts finished the weekend with a 196 average over four games and Mackenzie Saulnier had a 195.33 average in three games.

The Jennies are back in action next weekend, Jan. 22-24, at the Kutztown Invitational in Kutztown, Pennsylvania.
