(HOUSTON) — The fourth-ranked Jennies Bowling team went 2-1 on the final day of competition at the Stephen F. Austin Stormin’ Ladyjack Classic and finished in fifth place overall. The Jens finished 9-2 overall with the fifth highest total pins at 12,043.
The Jennies dropped their first match of the day, 4-2 (190-245, 203-182, 218-268, 165-209, 255-179, 191-219) to Vanderbilt. UCM responded with a 4-1 (185-181, 256-181, 179-160, 201-210, 199-182) win over Wisconsin-Whitewater to advance to the fifth place match against Sam Houston State.
The Jennies beat the Bearkats 4-1 (177-184, 212-195, 185-172, 180-175, 228-177) to claim fifth place in the tournament.
Jordan Richard finished fifth individually for the Jens with a 215.5 average. Haley Richard was 34th with a 195.8 average, while Jennifer Potts finished with a 184 average. Marina Stever had a 200.25 average over four games, including a 300 game. Gabriella Mayfield finished with a 199 and Samantha Roberts had a 182.
The Jennies are off until Feb. 27 when they host the UCM Women’s Invitational at KC Bowl in Kansas City, Kansas.
