Jennies bowling has three All-Americans

(WICKLIFFE, Ohio) — Jennies Bowling had three players earn National TenPin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-America honors as announced at the NCAA Championships Banquet on Wednesday night. Mary Wells and Kara Richard were named Third Team All-Americans, while Gabriella Mayfield earned Honorable Mention honors. In addition, Ron Homes was named the Division II/III Coach of the Year.

This is the second All-America honor for Wells, who led the team with a 204.22 average this season. She had four top-six finishes this season and six top-25 finishes. She was named to a pair of All-Tournament Teams during the season.

Richard earns her fourth straight All-American honor, after earning honorable mention accolades last season. She carried a 198.1 average during the regular season and was named to two All-Tournament Teams.

Mayfield earns the second All-America honor of her career after being named to the honorable mention squad. She was an honorable mention honoree and the Division II/III National Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2012. She had a 195.8 average during the regular season and earned one All-Tournament Team honor.

Holmes earns his eighth Coach of the Year honor after guiding the Jennies to a 77-26 record this season and the No. 2 seed at this weekend’s NCAA Championships.

The Jennies open play at the NCAA Championships on Thursday morning and competition continues through Saturday at Game of Wickliffe Lanes.
