Jennies bowling places third at Sam Houston State Kat Klash

(HOUSTON, Texas) — The Jennies bowling team went 2-1 on the final day of competition at the Sam Houston State Kat Klash on Sunday and finished in third place overall for the tournament. The Jennies finished 11-3 overall on the weekend.

The Jens opened play on Sunday with a 4-3 win over Stephen F. Austin. UCM trailed 3-2 in the match but rallied to win the final two to secure the win (202-212, 178-157, 181-236, 213-186, 189-230, 213-200, 195-158). The Jennies were swept in the next round by Nebraska (183-184, 204-233, 160-213, 175-193), but they rebounded to beat Long Island University-Brooklyn 4-3 (175-144, 145-237, 202-183, 200-136, 167-172, 198-225, 200-173) to come home in third place.

Heather Wiehe was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Jennies after finishing second individually with a 215.00 average.

This was the final competition of 2015 for UCM. The Jennies will return to action Jan. 15-17 at the Arkansas State Mid-Winter Classic in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
