(TULSA, Okla.) — The Central Missouri Jennies golf team finished in ninth place at the season-opening Northeastern State Golf Classic at Cherokee Hills Golf Club. The Jennies fired a 36-hole total of 698, accordingh to a press release.
Freshman Kelly Welker was the highest placing Jennie in a tie for 21st place after a two-round total of 25-over, 165. Alexa Boatman finished in 40th place after firing a 177. Kayla Temple and Kaitlyn Marsh were one shot back in a tie for 41st, while Maranda Smith shot a 190 and finished in 47th place.
Arkansas Tech captured the team title with a 49-over, 609. Baylee Price of Northeastern State, Megan Jeffrey of Arkansas Tech and Ana-Laura Gomez of Southwestern Oklahoma State finished in a tie for first at six-over par, 146.
The Jennies return to action next week at the Southwest Minnesota State Mustang Invite in Marshall, Minn.
