Johnnie Marie Barlow

Johnnie Marie Barlow, 85, of Knob Noster, Missouri, died Thursday, Nov. 19, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with Brother Charles Brant officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Monday, Nov. 23, at the funeral home.

A private interment will take place at a later date.

Johnnie was born Dec. 18, 1929, in Marthaville, Louisiana, the daughter of John D. and Ollie Alline (Weeks) Ingram.

She was united in marriage to Charles R. Barlow on Jan. 26, 1953, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Johnnie owned and operated three restaurants in Knob Noster: Panther Drive-In, Charlie & Johnnie’s Steak and Pizza, and Charlie & Johnnie’s Steak House.

Johnnie had many hobbies. She discovered fossils on her land and collected them for many years. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, cattle farming and going to the casinos.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Magee and wife, Ginny, of Knob Noster; and Chuck Barlow and companion, Cheryl Barlow, of Knob Noster; three daughters, Vicki Lynn Monaco and husband, Jim, of Arroyo Seco, Mexico; Charlotte Mennemeier and husband, Jerry, of Knob Noster; and Tedi Miles, of Knob Noster; two sisters, Jackie Sue Lee and husband, Jack, of Knob Noster; and Helen Elizabeth Speights, of Keatchie, Louisiana; 10 grandchildren, Michael Magee, of Knob Noster; Daxter Magee, of Knob Noster; James Monaco Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Olathe, Kansas; Michael Shawn Monaco, of Houston, Texas; Dawn Ybarra, of Knob Noster; Toni Hicks, of Knob Noster; Eric Miles and wife, Blair, of Meridian, Mississippi; Tifny Dodson and husband, Dusty, of Warrensburg; Charley Jean Barlow and companion, Lucas Whitworth, of Knob Noster; Chelby Barlow, of Knob Noster; two step-grandsons, Jeremy Mennemeier, of Kansas City; and Joey Mennemeier; and former daughter-in-law, Stacy McKeehan, of Florida; and 15 great-grandchildren.

 

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Johnson County Hospice Foundation and can be left in care of the funeral home.
