Joseph S. Stoyko Jr., 77, Holden, Missouri, died Nov. 15 at Holden Manor Care Center, Holden, Missouri.
Family will receive friends Nov. 27 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at New Life Fellowship, 400 South Main, Holden, Missouri, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 7:30 p.m. at the church.
Private graveside services will be held Nov. 28 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holden Cemetery with full Military Honors by the Holden VFW 5844 and American Legion Post 90.
Joseph was born July 22, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Joseph Sr. and Virginia Bell (Etter) Stoyko. He lived the majority of his life in the Kingsville and Holden area. Joseph graduated from Kingsville High School in 1960 and served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964.
Joe loved to work outdoors, trimming trees, hunting and fishing. He worked for comfort equipment Company in Holden, Missouri and was a union member for the UAW 583. While living in Idaho, Joseph worked as a lumberjack and worked as a butcher at the Holden Locker Plant. He started his own tree service in Holden which is now run by his two son’s Shane and Eric of Stoyko’s Tree Service.
Surviving his passing are his three children, daughter Monica Campbell and husband Steve, Holden; two sons, Joseph Shane Stoyko, Holden, Eric Stoyko and Wife Lisa, Holden; one step-son, David Heywood; five grandchildren, Katie Campbell, Clayton Campbell and wife Jill, Savannah Stoyko, Lily Stoyko, and Garrett Stoyko. Two sisters, Nancy Jean Stoyko and Beverly Tevis.
Joe was preceded in death by his father Joseph S. Stoyko Sr. and mother Virginia Stoyko.
