AXTELL, Neb. — The 15th-ranked Mules golf team finished in fourth place at the UNK Fall Invite at Awarii Dunes Golf Club, according to a press release. This was the first MIAA sanctioned event of the season.
The Mules finished with a 54-hole total of 887. Nebraska-Kearney captured the team title with an 855 followed by Lindenwood (869) and Fort Hays State (885). Central Oklahoma rounded out the top five with a team score of 893.
Travis Mays was the highest finishing Mule in a tie for seventh at two-over par 218. Teddy Jones tied for 10th with a 219 (+3). Alex Springer tied for 23rd with a 224, followed by Cy Moritz in a tie for 34th (228) and Sam Migdal in a tie for 60th (238).
Lance Lawson of Nebraska-Kearney captured the individual title with a six-under par 210.
The Mules are back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Brickyard Invitational at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Club in Indianapolis, Ind.
