(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) – Making sixth in state last year was quite an achievement and the Warrensburg Tigers baseball team is looking toward another solid season.
The Tigers are returning a senior-laden pitching staff of Jackson Janvrin, Jordan Carr and Conner Burgin.
“The entire pitching staff returning should be the strength of the team,” said head coach Dave Liebnitz.
The pitchers hope their extra work pays off.
“They put in a lot of work during the offseason and increased their velocity and ability to hit their spots,” said Kye Denker.
The pitching staff needs to be sharp to make up for the lack of varsity experience. Only one position player is returning.
“We have good pieces to move around,” Liebnitz said. “We just have to figure out where they should go, which may take a third of the season.”
The team has a tough schedule this spring.
“We don’t get a week off,” said assistant coach Chris Coombs. “We always see everyone’s number one being conference and districts champions last year.”
“We are just going to play the schedule out and see what we get,” Liebnitz said.
