Verla Sue Graham died at Ridgecrest Nursing Facility on Saturday, March 3.Funeral Services were held on Saturday, March 10, at 1 p.m. at Sweeney Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home with Chaplain Deborah Halter officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers were be Blake Calvin, Don York, Mark Kinsey, Samuel Uhler, Casey Allen and Jeffrey Uhler. The family received friends on Friday March 9, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Sue was born March 17, 1932 in Robertson County, Tennessee, near Nashville, of John Barthell Parker and Ona Belle Jernigan Parker.
Sue is survived by her husband, Lloyd Graham of Knob Noster, Missouri, they were married on February 1, 1975 in Knob Noster.
As a young woman, Sue worked in food service at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. She also worked in the garment industry at Unitog, and for Walmart in Warrensburg, and later for many years as a Marketing and Product Demonstration Professional before retiring.
Sue attended Robertson County Tennessee schools growing up. Sue was a member of the Montserrat Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Oganization. Sue loved the Lord, her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
cooking great family meals, nature, and her gardening.
The surviving family members are daughter Marilynn Archuleta of Stover, Missouri; daughter Carolyn Uhler of Holden, Missouri; Son Jeffrey Uhler and wife Tammy of Bangor, Pennsylvania; Samuel Uhler and wife Maria of Copperas Cove, Texas. Grandchildren: Annalisa Johnson of Gravois Mills, Missouri; Audrey Archuleta of Portland, Maine; Anita Allen and Casey Allen of Jefferson City, Missouri; Jose’ and Tiffany Lucero of Houston, Texas; Amanda and Brandon Corr of Jacksonville, Florida; Olivia Uhler of San Antonio, Texas; Landon Uhler of Bangor, Pennsylvania; and Sue is survived and was further blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Charity Johnson of Stover, Missouri; Jacob Quinn of Holden, Missouri; Alexus and Charlee Allen of Jefferson City; Jose’ Jr. and Maiya of Houston, Texas; and Camden Corr of Jacksonville, Florida; Sue also has several surviving nieces and nephews as well as a sister-in-law Betty (Don) York.
Sue had a previous marriage to Verne Donald Uhler on Feb. 21, 1953 in Nashville, Tennessee. Verne preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1989; also preceding Sue in death were her parents John Barthell Parker and Ona Belle Parker, sister Ludie Elizabeth Parker Buchanan, and her brothers, Billie Parker, Roy Lee Parker, Johnnie Parker, and Jim Austin Parker.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, the Diabetes Foundation, The American Heart Association or Warrensburg United Way and can be left in care of the funeral home.
