Violet Morris, 94, of Leeton, Missouri, died Monday, Nov. 30.
Graveside cremations services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor, Missouri, with Pastor Leroy Goodwin officiating.
She was born on May 18, 1921, in Bryan, Missouri, to Rebecca Ellen (Hall) Miller and John Lock Miller.
She married Hugh Dallas Morris on July 29, 1939, at Ava, Missouri. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18.
She is survived by two sons, Howard Morris, and wife, Donna, of Leeton; and Herbert Morris, of Clinton, Missouri; one sister, Nora Hunsaker, of Mansfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by one infant son, Harold Morris; three brothers, Melvin, Mack and George Miller; and one sister, Rosella McCullouch.
Violet grew up in the rural Ava, later moving to Leeton in the 1950s where she and Hugh owned and operated Morris Auto Sales & Service & Café.
They later lived in the Windsor area and then all over Iowa during road construction before retiring in 1982 in Leeton.
Violet enjoyed cooking, sewing, yard sales and visiting with friends and family.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Heartland Hospice and can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
