The Warrensburg Tigers wrestling team was defeated by the Smith Cotton Tigers for the first time in eight years Tuesday night by a final score of 40-33.

“There were several kids that had the opportunity to win,” said Coach Jeff Brown, “but we didn’t wrestle to the best of our ability.”

Sheldon Blose said the team “went into the match over-confident.”

Brown said he feels prepared for the upcoming Kearney Duals.

“Sedalia will be there, so we will hopefully get the opportunity to duel them again and get the score we should have got,” he said.

Overall, the Tigers have a winning record of 14-5.
