Tiger tennis starts the season with an ace

The Warrensburg Tigers boys tennis team has started off their season undefeated, including a first-place finish at the Cameron tournament last Friday.

Nick Piontek placed first in singles and Nate Fernquist placed third.

“Our team overcame hurricane force winds and 30 degree weather but pulled out with wins in singles and doubles,” said Austin Doyle.

Chris O’Connor and Doyle placed first in the doubles side of the bracket. Jackson Scurlock and Michael Lichte got fourth.

The team’s top six boys are returning, giving them the experience they need to hold strong throughout the season.

McKayla Wells is a Warrensburg High School student.
